Curry Chicken

I tried the vegetarian diet for a whole week and frankly after tasting those veggie breakfast sausages I decided to go back to my old ways. Those damn Morning Farm brand veggie dishes taste like grinded up soy beans and cardboard! YUK!! I tried to season them and drown them in cheese and they still taste like polluted air! I just can't eat them. The whole time I was chewing my face was frowned up like something smelled putrid.

Right about now I am fiening for some authenic curry chicken! The best cuisine known to mankind (well, my taste buds) is West Indian food!! A sister needs some curry sauce on something ASAP lol! The picture to the right is chopped up curry chicken breast and rice that I had a few weeks ago. It was beyond delicious and for the past few days it has been calling my name! My taste buds begins to water from just looking at the pic!!

It's tough to break a 28year old habit of eating meat. That's all my taste buds know! However I will cut back on my meat intake from daily to just a few times a week but as of today...CURRY CHICKEN IT IS!!

Hallowed Remnants

The recent passing of singer/songwriter Amy Winehouse made me instantly think about countless families that are suffering with drug addicted, hallowed remnants of love ones that were once so full of life. Now they seem to be walking shadows.

A remnant is defined as "A small remaining quantity of something". In these cases, that small remaining portion is the person that your love one once was. Sadly that person seems to no longer exist because drugs have completely consumed their entire being. Many of us can relate to this because we too have a family member that is literally a walking shell. Just like Amy Winehouse mom's stated to the British press "It's was only a matter of time" before something so tragic occurred. The path that addicts place themselves on only leads to one place. A place that you can't return from, a place in eternity. No matter what the cause of death, nothing really prepares you for the loss or the pain. The pain from the abrupt absence is so heavy and it weighs you down physically and emotionally until the healing process begins. A sense of anger overcomes you as well from the simple fact that they (your love one) did this to themselves. You find yourself playing the blame game as if it was something you could have done to prevent this when in actuality the addiction itself was so much powerful than you could ever help with.

Drug addiction is a monster and every family that is dealing with this beast is in my prayers. Some make it out, some don't.

What have you done for YOURSELF lately?

I have a great suggestion!

How many of you hard workers have enjoyed the benefit of a spa day lately? It doesn't matter what gender you are, male or female a professional massage is an awesome stress and tension reliever.

I tend to go all out with my spa days and get body waxing, facials, manicure, pedicure, 1-2 hour full body massages--THE WORKS! I believe that you HAVE to treat yourself often especially if you are always on the go! Slow down and have a self appreciation day. It's not an option, its Mandatory! You have to enjoy life. Everything doesn't have to be work/school, mate, kids, and home centered. You are not a robot. Pampering yourself can take a hundred pounds of pressure off your shoulders.

It's funny when I walk into the spa and ask them to change the music lol! They normally have some very soothing, mellowed out waterfall music playing, my preference is more like neo-soul, Kem, Jill Scott, Sade or something like that so I bring my own CD's lol. They don't have a problem with your request as long as it isn't offensive. I typically prefer the opposite sex as a masseuse as well. It's something about a man's hands that really sends me into total relaxation and in my mind I can imagine him to be WHOMEVER I want him to be LMAO!!

You can't force Chemistry

How do you know if you have what it takes to settle down, become a one man's woman and make a good man happy. It takes a certain level of chemistry to formulate a good productive relationship. The levels have to equal on both sides. You can't have one person giving their all and the other person just sitting back taking, taking, taking, and absorbing on the goodness.

It's almost impossible to have a functioning relationship if that good ole chemistry is not present. That's why some people just become sex buddies without the benefit of a flourishing relationship. There are NO sparks outside of sex between them. I've been there done that and it's an empty feeling. It gets boring quick even if the sex is good because ultimately you do want somebody to "Love".

One thing about Chemistry is you absolutely cannot force it! It's either present or it's not! It's aggravating to some extent because if you know you are dealing with a good guy/girl and the connection is not there you feel like "WTF". Why can't we fall blissfully in love, why is there no electricity between us? Why don't we mesh or fit? It's easier to say things that you normally wouldn't have the guts to say and people find a comfort level that allows them to share their innermost thoughts. People get bold, ratchet, raunchy and frankly down right ignorant. People begin to ruin the basis of why these sites where created with unnecessary drama and the spammers slap the icing on the cake. Is the social networking era for mature adults coming to an end.


It's seems that no matter where, when or how...when immature people gather the "Drama" follows closely behind. He said, she said. Back biting, trash talking, and cyber fighting runs rampant and begins to spill over into real life. When this becomes the everyday newsfeed and timeline of your online experience, grown folks want to walk away from it all. It's mentally draining. It's almost like patrolling a preschool while all the spoiled ass kids fight, throw sand and push each other in the dirt. You get to really see people for what they are and it's easier for you because all you have to do it watch. No questions asked. They do all the talking and talk themselves right into a ditch. It's despicable lol.

Lawd when are adults gonna grown up? It all maybe coming to an end.

What do you do with your Idle time?

You know they say "an Idle mind is the devil's playground". Meaning if you are not occupying your mind then you have the time to think about things that are unproductive and distracting. Don't mentally drain yourself. I personally feel bad and lazy when I sit around and do nothing. Who wants a lazy woman? Not a real man. I can't even lay in my bed too long because I feel as though I'm wasting precious time that some people didn't have the luxury of seeing.

A virtuous woman doesn't sleep past 8am is a theory I have embedded in my mind. So what do I suggest??

If your not motivated to get up then find some inspiration to get moving. Turn on some music. No one can resist their favorite song and before you know it your are up and moving. What next?

Take a look around and see what need to be changed, cleaned or fixed in your life and then get to repairing! Whether it's your career, school, friendships, your relationship or physical objects. Take care of the people and things around you that you cherish. If everything is A'OK then start planning your next move. "You better make your next move your best move" and occupy that Idle Time.

My Signature Makeup Look "Raccoon Nude"

Raccoon Nude is my Signature Makeup look. It's simple. It's easy. It's BOLD. It's Sexy.

This is the look I sported over the Holiday Weekend. The darkness in the eyes creates the "Raccoon" effect and nothing compliments it better than shiny nude lips. The best part about it is that it's super quick as well, it literally took 5mins to do. You feel kinda naughty when your look is completed lol. Nevertheless here is what you need to create this daring look:


A clean face:)Shadow Primer (Urban Decay): Eye shadow primer makes any brand and any color eye shadow POP and Lock. It magnifies any color times 10 and locks it in for the entire day.
Coal Black ShadowCoal Black Liner (NYX or MAC):for bottom and water line
Black Liquid Liner (NYX): to line the top
Indigo Blue Mascara (Estee Lauder)
Viva La Glam Nude Lipstick (Mac Lady GaGa edition)
Nude lipgloss: to add shine
Cream Foundation: for even skin coverage
Foundation powder: to lock in the cream Foundation
Peach Blush: to add some tint to your cheeks

Now here's what to do: First make sure your face is clean then apply your shadow primer. Let it sit for about 2mins before applying the Black shadow. Apply the black shadow to your lid area ONLY then grab your blending brush to blend out the harsh edges to create the "smokey" look. Next you are going to take your liquid liner and line your top lid to make the shape of your eye really pop. Then take your liner pencil and line the bottom of your eye and the water line. You can really use a thick line to create a bolder look. Ok now grab your mascara and apply a heavy coat from the base of your lashes to the tips, top and bottom! Since this is a dark look, the Indigo color really adds personally to your natural lashes and makes them stand out on their own.
Now that you are finished with your eyes it's time to apply your foundation. I personally only need a very thin layer because I take care of my skin and my tone is very even. After you apply your foundation, add the powder on top to seal the deal.
Now it's time to apply your blush. Smile and add the blush to your cheeks:) Literally LOL. Add your lipstick and the lipgloss on top for some shine and WaaaLaaaaa your DONE!

Kim Kardashian is notorious for this sexy look. It's a night time look so don't be sporting it at work or church lol! Have fun creating!!

Im the same person everyday!!!

I'm so happy go lucky! I bet I piss people off with my positive demeanor LOL. You know that person that you can't stand because every time you see them they happy as hell or that person that come to work early in the morning cheesing and its to damn early to be laughing in sh*t....Yep that's me!

Honestly I smile all the time because when I think about it...there's no reason to be sad. There's always a person who is doing much worse off than you. I will never understand how a person's attitude can go from 10 to 0 in .03 seconds LOL. I have family like this and they have been this way for as long as they can remember...is it a chemical imbalance that restricts them from being happy? Maybe.

I personally think it's a choice. You have to choose to be happy. I suggest that if you have an issue similar to this then you reprogram your thinking and try to only focus on the good things in your life. Anything or Anybody that is negative doesn't even deserve your attention.

Another Holiday weekend is upon us!

The holidays are really the only times I get the urge to party. I went to one day party yesterday, heard a little comedy from one of my favs @felonious_munk and had a good time. His comedy reminds me of Paul Mooney who is a legend in the comedy world. To be compared to him is an honor.
