Great Friends, Great Times

My past few weekends have been consecutively awesome!!
Looking forward to the weekend is something many working professionals do. When you dedicate your work week to the grind, when Friday rolls around you suddenly feel like sliding allllllll that to the side and getting wild. In my case, crazy wild!!
I really don't be giving 5 damns who watching, who talking, who judging, who hating...if you watching me I'm gonna give you what you are wishing for!!




I get a kick out of people watching me get loose because I don't care what people think. No ignorance involved at all, you DON'T have to act a plum fool to enjoy yourself. I work hard so I play hard. I'm so comfortable in my own skin that it's ridiculous. When I step out my number 1 goal is having an amazing time. I love to dance and drink and the combination of the two is always EPIC LOL.


This weekend's celebration was in honor of a few birthday's. My circle is getting old, aging and like wine, getting better with time. I'm happy to have such positive, inspirational and goal-orientated women in my life. We truly compliment one another on a professional level and in our personal lives. I especially appreciate being amongst friends of different professional genres. I really don't prefer being around folks that do the exact same sh*t I do, market saturation--"that's that sh*t I don't like! *Chief Keith voice* LOL!!


Anywho, Catch 31 on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront was the dining venue of choice Saturday and you really get what you pay for as far of the atmosphere is concerned. The scenery is truly beautiful. For me it really gives me a Miami feel. Grown and sexy isshhh. The beach breeze, tropical drinks, weave blowing in the wind, sundress, oversized sunshades is all I need to set my mind free.

New Night Spot

Last week me and a few of my girls decided to do something a bit different and hit the Sky Bar on the VA Beach Oceanfront.

Grown and Hella Sexi is how I'm going to describe the night. The mood was very intimate and Miami-ish. I can definitely get with this on a regular basis. The best part about it to me was the absence of familiar faces. Sometimes I just want to go out and enjoy the night without having to entertain lol. Sometimes I feel like simply CHILLIN!! No extra talking, just good-old fashion relaxing.

Of course that's me in the blue @royalbeautyv, Shay (@msshaysierra) joined the fun and Sissy (@topnotchpearl) brought her sexy-educated self along and ran into @denezze (IG) too! I had a blast with them! We laughed, drank, danced, chilled and laughed some more! Good times with good friends.

My Birthday Week

I had the most amazing birthday week ever!

I must say that this was the best birthdays of my life! My husband always finds a way to out-do himself every year. We are finally back in a comfortable financial space that allowed him to pretty much take the spending gloves off and spoil me rotten.
Now don't get me wrong great birthdays aren't about money money money…it was definitely the thought that he put into everything that he did that made my bday very memorable. I love my honey. Honey took me out all week, gave me surprise gifts all week and really showed how thoughtful he could be. (He's always thoughtful anyway:)

My friends also had their hands in making my special day epic!
My born day was 4/19 but I decided to celebrate it with a Pure white & Gold party on 4/20. I thought that was a fun day because of obvious reasons lol! The turn out was great!! Everyone looked so dazzling and regal in their fashions!
I would start calling names but I don't want to make a mistake and omit anyone so I'll play it safe and just thank EVERYONE collectively! I genuinely appreciate everyone who attended. You could have been anywhere in the world but you chose to celebrate with me and that means a lot.

In addition to having the pleasure of celebrating with my close friends and acquaintances, my bday cake was another one of the highlights of my night!! The cake (couturecakesbynika.com) was delivered to Purrsha (the venue), set up and it completely stole the show! Click on the pic to get a full view! It was a 5tier Stiletto cupcake tower and it was BEYOND DELICIOUS!! It wasn't too sweet, it was just right. I had two flavors, yellow cake and lemon! The decor on them was very elegant and fashionable. The detail on the top tier was MIND BLOWING!! I was in complete awe because the cake was a surprise to me from my hubby. I gave him a general idea and a sample picture and he hired a baker and together they completely out did themselves!!

I got 1 card from my bro Miles (my BFF's fiancé) who's unfortunately incarcerated and couldn't be here to celebrate with us but I'm hoping he will be home next year to. The card he sent me was very sentimental because it was skillfully crafted and handmade and I must admit it was the best card I received! Shoutout to all my fam and friends who know I LOVE cards and took their time out to pick up 1 that was perfect and "Vee":)

So I'm 29 years old now and I'm really not a person that like to go nuts every year when my day rolls around because I try to live everyday as if it's equally as special. This year I went all out because it's my last year in my 20's and that to me is a milestone. I'm not at all mentally ready to turn 30 next year but I'll make the best of it and embrace it. This year was everything I imagined and hoped for!! Thanks again to everyone who made me feel loved!

Brooklyn, NY

Last week I was in Brooklyn, NY and I had the MOST AWESOME time. I was there for 3days and honestly I wanted to stay longer. It's some really hood areas in Brooklyn but there are plenty really gorgeous apartments in the city as well. Just riding around with my girls I was picking out buildings I could live in. The simple fact that I was doing that shocked me because I said I would never live in NY.

The cost of living is enough to keep me as just a visitor as oppose to a resident though. I can't lie, every since I left I been thinking about going back. The feeling that the city life gives me is indescribable. Seeing lots of people out and about 24hours a day gave me a thrill. I'm a fashionista so the shops, boutiques, and blocks and blocks of couture stores simply floor me every time. I swear I can stay and shop for days at a time and never get tired.

It's just so much to do. It wasn't my first time in NY but it was my 2nd time in Brooklyn. This time I actually got the opportunity to appreciate and fall in love with the borough. Manhattan is too much for me, the Bronx is not enough. Queens doesn't really feel special and Harlem I can rock with as much as I rock with BK.

BK thanks for showing me LOVE and I'm looking forward to returning often!

My 10 year class reunion

I had the pleasure of attending my 10year High school reunion yesterday! Honestly I didn't have any plans on going because I had other more pressing issues that I needed to address but with a push of a few friends I ended up partying like a rockstar with my old classmates. I'm so glad I went.

I knew deep down inside that this event was going to be classic because our 5year reunion did not disappoint. We still talk about that event to this day!! With yesterday now in my past I have more awesome memories stored in my memory bank. It was great to see so many old timers from out of town. So many beautiful faces that I haven't seen in years. Wow I'm still in awe.

I still feel as young as I did when I was in high school and if you ask me I look even better. I am aging gracefully and with every passing year I feel that much more younger and that much more beautiful. My girls and I really enjoyed every moment of last night, we drank, we danced, and we drank some more lol. There's nothing like being amongst friends having the time of our lives!

Beauty Day wit Vee

On October 30th I kicked off my "MakeMeOva" Beauty and Flawlessness Sessions where young ladies and women register to come and gain some Diva knowledge, 101 MakeUp Tips, Beauty Tips and all of my Cosmetic secrets. These sessions are very interactive and informative. I require that my attendees take notes and others actually practice the techniques I teach on the spot!! We laugh, learn and network.
My classes are broken up into 3 separate sessions and each one goes deeper into depth on the Beauty Industry. It's easy to see how passionate I am about my work because I get so excited about it. I love to treat my students to beauty freebies and makeup gifts to those who are actually bold enough to practice the techniques I'm teaching in the class. My reward in return are their smiles. I remember how thrilled I was learning new cosmetic tips when the interest sparked my attention years ago. Since then, I have a controlled obsession with it lol.


To add more punch to the class I invite some of my favorite brand builders to come in and share their products with my guests. It's important for me to include the representatives of the everyday brands I actually use in my sessions because they can give a more detailed background on the things I consider essential in daily beauty. I offer my honest reviews and lots of tips to enhance these products. In my Oct 30th session I invited Monique Diamond from Moliciouz Lipz Lip Gloss, Marquita Bianca from Leg Lovers, Mrs. Serena from Serenity Designs and Tiquerra Brown from BowTied Divaz. My guests fell in love with each of their product lines and I was please that they actually made some sales:)

Overall it was a GREAT turnout and my next session will be in December with the exact day TBD...so stay tuned:)

The Perfect Wedding

What's your ideal wedding?

Every little girl's dream is to have a gorgeous wedding surrounded by loved ones, the families and friends....
Right? Maybe not...

I never really got the point of having a lavish, over the top, exclusive wedding just to show off for your peeps. I didn't understand why people would want to waste hard earned money for other's to witness THEIR commitment in 'Love'. I was always the type that would rather use those funds to honeymoon and pamper one another, I didn't want to waste it away on "showcasing" my vows.

Hmmmm interesting right? Actually I never saw the big deal of a big wedding until recently. I guess I'm getting older and more mature. Now when I think about the "perfect" wedding I think about gazing into my partner's eyes on a beautiful costal beach with simple but elegant decorations and just enough family and friends to keep the mood intimate. I think about the peaceful open atmosphere of a beach that's not confined by walls, rules or religion. I think about the sounds of the waves crashing and the gentle breeze blowing up my wedding dress. I'm even bold enough to wear all white again lol. The pureness in my white will represent the pureness in the Love I have for my spouse. I think about the warm sand in between my manicured toes as I walk slowly towards my soon-to-be. I think about a Live pianist playing and singing softly as my close friends smile at me and choke back tears in their bridesmaid attire. I think about my soon-to-be standing there looking at me in amazement as the groomsmen dap him up in agreement.

I'm so excited!!! Today I got an amazing call from an Exclusive NY Film Company to come on board as the writer of their upcoming movie for the Miami Film Festival in the Spring. For anyone in the industry that has been in movies or has even been a part of the filming process then you know how long this can actually take. The movie has to be written, then shot, then edited before the finished product is shown to the public. This process can take a year sometimes but DAMMIT I'm geeked!!! I'm WRITING AN OFFICIAL MOVIE!!!! Can ya'll hear me screaming!!! This is Soooooo Major!!! Gosh, I promise myself, my readers, followers, fans, family, associates and friends that I am going to go HAM on this project and put blood, sweat and tears into the script. U don't have 2b a Model 2Produce Great Photos

Time and Time again, women come up to me and say, Vee I want to take some pictures but I don't know how to pose. My first response is "yes you do". Anyone can pose but the key is CONFIDENCE!

Confidence is a MUST on the set of a photoshoot. You can't hide it from the lens, the camera will pick up every amount of insecurity in you. Women are naturally sexy so you have to pull from that source when taking professional photos. Here are some key tips you want to keep in mind:

1. Facial expressions: You really don't have to over do the facial expressions. Some do, some don't. It depends on how extensive you want your photo portfolio to be. Me personally, I'm not a model so I just take pictures for fun and to hang up in my home. Be aware of the expression on your face. Have confidence and like Tyra say "Smile with your eyes". Smiling with your eyes is a sexy squint. It's almost like you are piercing someone's soul with your stare. It's a seductive look and it works every time. oh and keep in mind that you don't always have to look into the lens, you can look away from it to and capture an amazing photo.

2.Body Language is EVERYTHING! You have to be aware of all your body parts and pose from each one of them. Practice makes perfect so purchase a full length mirror and play in front of it often. Before you know it you will become fully aware of your best angles and these are the ones you use in your shoots.

3. Makeup: Yes my darlings...you will need a MUA (makeup artist) This is essential. A MUA is going to make you look as close to perfection as possible and don't be a smartass, cuz WE ALL HAVE IMPERFECTIONS Lol. Your makeup application should ENHANCE your beauty NOT completely change your face! Less is more! There are small things you can do to the face to make you look "High Fashion", consult with your MUA for tips

3. Your Fit: The outfit you chose to do your shoot in should be timeless. Again Less is more. Don't over do it and make sure your clothes are fitting and that you have a foundation on if your belly is a little sizable (if you know what I mean). If that went over your head then let me spell it out: PUT A GURTLE ON! A SPANX or something lol! Hell, sometimes I double up my spanx lol! It work every time! If your legs have scars that camouflage them with a few pair of translucent stockings. Yes I said a "few" pair. Stockings holds that jiggle in the thighs together and you may need a few pair on to create a "tight-fitted" look. If you don't want to double up your stockings then wear some fishnets or lace stockings, they will also get the job done.

4. Your hair: Your hair should be a bit over exaggerated. You may need to glue/sew in a few pieces to give yourself a "full look". I recommend you get your hair done a 1-2days before a shoot so if you don't like it you can alter it.

5. Shoes/accessories: If your backdrop calls for shoes then your heel size should be high and fairly new. Practice walking in your heels so that you don't stand with an unattractive lean. Your heels should be a solid color because you don't want them to be the focal point of your picture. Your accessories should be oversized and couture. Look through fashion magazines to get ideas and inspiration. Your accessories can make an extremely plain outfit look runway worthy!

Everything on you and about you should be cohesive, meaning everything should work together. Follow these tips and you will have EPIC photos!! Good luck to you!

Virginia just experienced Hurricane Irene yesterday and good ole Mother Nature has spared us from her wrath once again. I'm truly thankful because a category 2 storm and above will be catastrophic for this state. What I don't understand is how some people are down right blasphemous toward Mother Nature, saying things like "that b*tch Irene won't nothing", "that was one p*ssy a** storm"....ummmm people don't challenge the weather PLEASE because we don't stand a chance if sh*t got REAL in these streets LOL. Calm your mouth down and just be thankful.

When I want to let it all out, I get in my Earth, Wind & Fire mood. I put on my little shorts, take my shoes off and let my hair down. In my living room is where I lose total control and dance my ass off lol!

You can't tell me nothing when I'm knee deep in JAM mode! I bust out all the old school dances and I'm ready to battle. There's not a living soul ready for me when I'm mentally in a Soul Train Line lol. These oldies take me back to my childhood and give me an incredible feeling of being free. Beach day

Last weekend I decided to cancel everything in my plans and have a beach day. This pic is a sneak peek of me in my bikini. You know I can't show ya'll too much. Wait let me back up...I actually went to my resort on the beach because a sista don't trust no nasty beach water. Ok so I went to the resort and chilled in that hot ass jacuzzi and the pool water was on Arctic freeze lmbo! Nahhh, I'm playing it was a delightful day, I'm glad I went. To add the icing on the cake I also went past one of my favorite beach restaurants and ate like a baby pig. Overall it was a wonderful day.

What have you done for YOURSELF lately?

I have a great suggestion!

How many of you hard workers have enjoyed the benefit of a spa day lately? It doesn't matter what gender you are, male or female a professional massage is an awesome stress and tension reliever.

I tend to go all out with my spa days and get body waxing, facials, manicure, pedicure, 1-2 hour full body massages--THE WORKS! I believe that you HAVE to treat yourself often especially if you are always on the go! Slow down and have a self appreciation day. It's not an option, its Mandatory! You have to enjoy life. Everything doesn't have to be work/school, mate, kids, and home centered. You are not a robot. Pampering yourself can take a hundred pounds of pressure off your shoulders.

It's funny when I walk into the spa and ask them to change the music lol! They normally have some very soothing, mellowed out waterfall music playing, my preference is more like neo-soul, Kem, Jill Scott, Sade or something like that so I bring my own CD's lol. They don't have a problem with your request as long as it isn't offensive. I typically prefer the opposite sex as a masseuse as well. It's something about a man's hands that really sends me into total relaxation and in my mind I can imagine him to be WHOMEVER I want him to be LMAO!!

Starting a business is always exciting and the first thing you want to do is link with another individual that has traveled the same road that you are headed down. Draw your inspiration from their experiences.

There's no need to reinvent the wheel, see what they have done and start taking the proper steps. After you get there then you can make it your own. Ok now to address the question at hand. If you are looking to be a publicist in the fashion, makeup, and beauty field then you need to do some research. Keep in mind that research can take days, weeks, or possibly months. You want to gain as much knowledge about the industry as possible and become an expert on what it takes to make a name for yourself and MONEY in the field. Build your clientele, start marketing and promoting yourself, build a website, a BUSINESS FACEBOOK and retrain your thinking. You are about to go in business so you need to eat, sleep and breath this passion until you reach your desired level of success.

Start surrounding yourself with people who are going to help you get to where you need to be, research business training courses/seminars/conferences near you that relates to your field. If your true desire is to be successful then you must start building a brand! People relate to brand names!

LLC's are better for small business owners because it limits your liability in the event of any type of lawsuit or errors. It sounds as though you already have the experience behind u so start to promote yourself so that your face and name is more recognizable in your area. you can lock down that whole area if there's only a few out there in your industry! That alone is EXCITING!! go girl!!!..

Gotta Love Life!!

Today I got the inspiration to get out the bed and blog from a few things I saw online. First off I have a photo shoot today and I'll be meeting with the filmagrapher about the movie I wrote and will be directing so I should be brainstorming, taking notes or relaxing until those very important meetings but my brain won't rest.

I had the most awesome business meeting with 7 of my closest Divas last night and what we are cooking up is glamorous so I'm excited about that. I'm also working on my 2nd novel which will be a fictional erotic storyline and etc.

I got a lot going on and a lot is better than nothing so I'm not complaining at all. Whewwww!! Gotta luv life!!

Is the 'Social Networking' Era coming to an End for Grown Folks?

From the Chat Line to Blackplanet, to Myspace, Facebook and now Twitter, the face of social networking has quickly evolved.

It seems as though the popularity of these social sites skyrockets with a strong 2-3year run after they reach their peek. After that we are on to the next. Social sites makes communicating with family, friends, loved ones, past relationships and future relationship a whole lot easier. It's easier to talk to people behind a keyboard and computer screen.

However, there's an evil side to Social Media. It's easier to say things that you normally wouldn't have the guts to say and people find a comfort level that allows them to share their innermost thoughts. People get bold, ratchet, raunchy and frankly down right ignorant. People begin to ruin the basis of why these sites where created with unnecessary drama and the spammers slap the icing on the cake. Is the social networking era for mature adults coming to an end.


It's seems that no matter where, when or how...when immature people gather the "Drama" follows closely behind. He said, she said. Back biting, trash talking, and cyber fighting runs rampant and begins to spill over into real life. When this becomes the everyday newsfeed and timeline of your online experience, grown folks want to walk away from it all. It's mentally draining. It's almost like patrolling a preschool while all the spoiled ass kids fight, throw sand and push each other in the dirt. You get to really see people for what they are and it's easier for you because all you have to do it watch. No questions asked. They do all the talking and talk themselves right into a ditch. It's despicable lol.

Lawd when are adults gonna grown up? It all maybe coming to an end.

What to do with Idle Time

What do you do with your Idle time?

You know they say "an Idle mind is the devil's playground". Meaning if you are not occupying your mind then you have the time to think about things that are unproductive and distracting. Don't mentally drain yourself. I personally feel bad and lazy when I sit around and do nothing. Who wants a lazy woman? Not a real man. I can't even lay in my bed too long because I feel as though I'm wasting precious time that some people didn't have the luxury of seeing.

A virtuous woman doesn't sleep past 8am is a theory I have embedded in my mind. So what do I suggest??

If your not motivated to get up then find some inspiration to get moving. Turn on some music. No one can resist their favorite song and before you know it your are up and moving. What next?

Take a look around and see what need to be changed, cleaned or fixed in your life and then get to repairing! Whether it's your career, school, friendships, your relationship or physical objects. Take care of the people and things around you that you cherish. If everything is A'OK then start planning your next move. "You better make your next move your best move" and occupy that Idle Time.

Nails done, Hair done--Everything did!

Another Holiday weekend is upon us!

The holidays are really the only times I get the urge to party. I went to one day party yesterday, heard a little comedy from one of my favs @felonious_munk and had a good time. His comedy reminds me of Paul Mooney who is a legend in the comedy world. To be compared to him is an honor. I seen @LegacyOfSleeper in the club and to say that he can dance his ass off is an understatement, homie can move! I know some ladies that got a weakness for a man that can dance like that! Get it Sleeper LOL!!

Today I have to go and show love to my Wildbunch Crew at their Day Party at Mangos. I'm an honorary Wildbunch Diva lol! Nah but those are my people so Im going to slide through.
